Decorate by Holly Becker and Joanna Copestick is a truly pretty book with wonderful photos by Debi Treloar. The rooms are fresh, clean, and full of color. The book gives 1000 ideas for readers to add pizazz to their rooms plus offers guidance on creating a space that fits the each person’s style. Holly and Joanna show you how to maximize a room’s impact by considering the architectural elements of the room, white space, light, textures, color, flooring, furniture, display techniques, and more.
The book is divided into four sections: Space Matters, Setting Your Style, Room by Room and Attention to Detail. Top designers from around the world, give their tips on what makes a room work. My favorite section, Setting Your Style, shows how to create and use a mood board at the beginning of a project to help you focus on what you really like.
The book is available now in Anthropologie stores in the US or on Amazon. Release dates vary in other countries so check with your local bookstore for availability.
I’ve followed Holly’s blog Decor8 for some time and it’s full of the same kind of hands on advice and examples that anyone can use. My recommendation is that if you don’t need to decorate a room, own the book just to look at the luscious pictures.
Enjoy Decorate,
JT
