It’s a beautiful, sunny, and 70° day in College Station, Texas and I’ve already attended a book sale with plans to visit my favorite local secondhand store, Carousel Paperbacks. In case you’re stuck inside, here are a few pretty books to hold you until you can make it to a bookstore.

A nice little library tucked in amongst a saloon and pool hall in Austin, Nevada. Austin is located on Highway 50, a.k.a. the Loneliest Road in America. The highway follows the route of the Pony Express riders who delivered the mail in frontier days. The Austin tourist site states that the requirements for a Pony Express rider were “”young, skinny, wiry fellow not over eighteen. Must be expert rider willing to risk death daily. Orphans preferred.” Image: The Stakhanovite Twins
