I ventured to the small, lovely town of Salado, Texas for Christmas in October a couple of months ago with a few of my wonderful friends.  Salado is known for its quaint little shops full of antiques and newfound goodies.  While I didn’t spot many books, I did uncover a few stylish bookends that would make great gifts for a booklover.

Bunny Bookends Salado TX

Who doesn’t love to see a bunny holding up a book?

Angel Bookends Salado Texas

I love the little maroon books these angels are resting on.

A to Z Bookends Salado Texas

These are a little different than the black matte finish I usually see on letter bookends.

Dove Bookends Salado TX

This looks like a dove to me, but I have no idea why it is dark red.

Industrial Bookends Salado TX

I do not know what these are.

On another note, neighboring Belton was hosting a Volkswagon van rally the same weekend and many of the owners were eating at our restaurant so the parking lot was full of old, cool VW vans.

Some shiny, some not so shiny.

For the record, this is my favorite picture in this post;  something about the blue, the rust, and the iconic VW emblem.

Enjoy,
